How do you hire the right people for your cleaning company? Not having the correct systems in place can lead to having a string of bad employees. Luckily for you, Mike is here to cover how to get solid, A-grade employees for your cleaning company.
The issue is, when you don’t hire people that are the right fit this can oftentimes lead to companies deciding against hiring any employees at all. Many cleaning company owners are also the ones doing the cleaning in their company, and once they do decide to hire , they hire the first person that shows up. The issue with this is that business owners will end up with employees that aren’t a good fit for their company, which can make them give up on the idea of hiring anyone at all. If this is the case for you, then you own a cleaning job, not a cleaning company. All companies need a leader, and without anyone to handle the cleaning part of your business, that will leave you with the cleaning and no time to work on your business. This can hinder growth drastically.
One of the biggest misbeliefs that can be detrimental to your ability to grow is the idea that you don’t need any sort of onboarding process. Without the onboarding process, it is not only a huge toll on you, but it also leaves you to deal with all the hiring in the last minute, which is not fun. One way to avoid this is by setting up a system so that you always have a large surplus of potential employees that are a good fit for your company. Having a system like this in place will not only help alleviate the stress when an employee quits, but also will allow you to get much higher graded employees. It also frees up a lot of time so that you can focus on bigger picture ideas.

One of, if not THE most important part of getting quality employees is making sure that they are a good fit with your company. It is not uncommon for people to think that they either have to hire very experienced cleaners, or spend lots of time teaching new employees how to clean, but in fact teaching people to clean is very easy, and finding employees that are a core value match is much more important. It is much easier to teach people how to clean than it is to change how they think. Things such as: Core value based hiring, Using group interviews, and Always hiring are all a great start to your employee hiring system. Some cleaning company owners like to blame their lack of attracting quality employees on their circumstances, however, the reality is that if you’re attracting bad employees, it’s on you. The flip side to that is if you have been attracting bad employees, you are the one that can change it! Hopefully this sheds some light on how to hire the RIGHT people for YOUR Cleaning Company!
